Sega’s 1993 fighting game Eternal Champions is reportedly set to become a movie. The Hollywood Reportersays the live-action adaptation of the Mega Drive / Genesis one-on-one fighter is being written by Derek Connolly. Connolly has a reputation for co-writing numerous movies based on franchises and known IP, with co-writing credits on such films as the Jurassic World trilogy, Detective Pikachu, Kong: Skull Island and Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker....

September 2023’s PlayStation Plus Essentials line-up will reportedly be headlined by 2022’s Saints Row reboot. That’s according to Dealabs userbillbil-kun, who has been accurately revealing thePlayStationPlus line-ups almost every month for the past two years. Volition’s Saints Row reboot first released for consoles andPC(via theEpic Games Store) in August 2022. ASteamversion was released this month, as well asthe game’s third piece of DLC content. The Silent Hill 2 remake will be a PlayStation console exclusive for at least one year, it’s been revealed. According to the game’s latesttrailer, it will be “not available on other formats until 19-05-2025.” While this doesn’t confirm the game, which will be released next month onPlayStationandPC, will come toXboxon that date, this does confirm that the current exclusivity period is planned for one year. Similar messages have previously appeared on trailers for theFinal Fantasy 7 Remakegames, and while they did appear on PC following that period, they have yet to appear on Xbox....

Sony president and PlayStation chairman Hiroki Totoki wants the company to be “aggressive” when it comes to improving its gaming division’s profit margins, which he says can partly be achieved with a greater focus on bringing first-party games to PC. During a Q&A session followingSony’s latest financial results briefing, Totoki was asked why the game division is seeing an increase in gross income but not in profits, and whether there were any initiatives planned to improve the bottom line....

A new replica lightsaber from Respawn Entertainment’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is now on sale at Disney parks, but the rare item is already being sold at an inflated price on auction sites. The lightsaber hilt, which is a replica of that belonging to hero Cal Kestis in the game, was released in Disney’s Galaxy’s Edge parks in Disneyland and Walt Disney World on July 02, 2025, after winning a fan poll held two years earlier....

Midnight Society, the studio co-founded by Guy ‘Dr Disrespect’ Beahm, has made a “significant” number of layoffs. This year’s Grammy award winner for the best video game soundtrack of the year has been announced. During the award ceremony last night, it was announced that this year’s Grammy for Best Score Soundtrack for Video Games and Other Interactive Media went to Winifred Phillips’ score for Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord. Today’s planned update for Disney Dreamlight Valley will bring with it performance upgrades and various bug fixes, developer Gameloft has announced.
