Nintendo has released a demo for Pikmin 4 on the Nintendo eShop, in addition to an extensive overview trailer. The 7-minute video sets the scene for theSwitchsequel, and details, among other things, its ‘Dandori Battles’ – competitive challenges against AI or another player to see who can most efficiently use their Pikmin to collect valuable items. The trailer also showcasesPikmin 4’s RPG-type features, such as the ability to upgrade your character with new items or gear, or upgrade your canine companion Oatchi’s abilities....

Bethesda’s games are “irresponsibly large”, but there’s a clear reason for that, according to Todd Howard. A new report has claimed that several top Twitch executives have left the company, apparently in part due to a failure to understand Twitch’s culture. Nintendo has claimed Switch 2’s new Joy-Con analog sticks will be more durable than on Switch 1, when asked about potential stick drift issues. Joy-Con drift has been a significant issue forNintendo Switchsince its launch in 2017, and despite revisions in the controllers’ internals, it’s a problem that reportedly persists. ‘Joy-Con drift’ is when a stick can register input when there is none. For example, a controller with Joy-Con drift could be left completely still, and yet the player’s character could be moving slowly in any direction....

A former designer and writer on World of Warcraft claims he was fired by Blizzard after he wrote new dialogue that was designed to satirise corporate greed. The Loot Specialist character was added to the game in March and designer Eric Covington wrote some of their dialogue. This included lines like “another record quarter for revenue”, “let’s call this a cost-of-living adjustment”, “looks like another yacht for me” and “time to go back to the office”....
